Airbnb Acquires Accomable to Expand its Network of Accessible Homes

November 2017 - Expanding upon its existing Open Doors policy, which prohibits hosts discriminating against guests with disabilities, Airbnb’s latest acquisition of Accomable continues its journey of providing all of its guests with safe and accessible accommodations. We reported in September on Accomable’s expansion in the U.S. (available here: http://www.wirelessrerc.gatech.edu/europes-airbnb-accomable-coming-us-accommodate-travelers-disabilities), and Airbnb will work to integrate Accomable’s vast network of accessible homes in over sixty countries into its existing network. In addition to this acquisition, Airbnb has worked with engineers and designers to create new accessibility checklists, with the goal of improving accessible accommodations for all. This renewed commitment to accessibility will be welcome news to travelers with disabilities around the world. Source: Airbnb.
